Raceways Rider Training (RRT) was originally established in 2005 by Raceways Motorcycles of Fleetwood with 4 motorcycles and a moped. It was bought by myself Steve Dalton in June 2006 and has gone from strength to strength having a fleet of 18 low mileage motorcycles that serve both RRT and their Blackpool based sister company Coastal Bike & Car Training Ltd which was acquired in late 2006 and provided the training services for Blackpool Honda.
Having served in the Armed Forces for 27 years I fully appreciated the necessity to provide a totally professional and efficient service that is adaptable to cater for the wide variety of customer needs whilst still being able to operate within the rigid regulations regarding Motorcycle Training.
All my Instructors are from professional backgrounds, predominantly retired members of the Armed Forces or the Police force and the remaining two are involved in teaching and accountancy. I insist that everyone involved with both RRT and CBT hold an Advanced Rider qualification and also attend a First Bike on Scene or similar First Aid course.
Our current range of training bikes is professionally maintained and the vast majority of the fleet are changed every three years. For CBT training we use Honda Vision 50cc scooters and Yamaha YBR & Honda GLR 125cc motorcycles for those trainees 17 years and older that require geared motorcycle training.
For those opting to gain their full motorcycle licence we use Yamaha YBR 125’s, Honda CB 500F ABS 47 bhp and Suzuki Gladius & the new Suzuki SV650 motorcycles.
For Module 1 training we have a specific area we use where we can lay the course out and use a speed gun for the timed elements.
All riders are welcome from total novices to those that have ridden before. We also offer refresher training for ‘born again’ bikers.
We do not differentiate between male or female riders as the most important factor at the end of the day is getting on 2 wheels safely and confidently!
